Ends up that my thesis revisions ate my brain too. That’s all finished now, but I’m leaving on vacation and am just out of time for writing! However, I will post on the saber-tooth papers on the 26th or 27th after I come back from vacation.

Hi Nimravid,
Do you have any opinions on the nimravid species Dinaelurus crassus (Eaton, 1926) and the current speculation that it may have been a cheetah-like cursorial predator?
I’m interested because I write a young adult science fiction series about sapient prehistoric big cats, the Ratha or Named series. The fictional name of my species is Dinaelurus illumina sapiens, a descendant of Dinaelurus crassus.
Has anyone done a paleo-art restoration of D. crassus? I’ve done some sculptures based on drawings in Eaton’s 1926 description of the fossil.
